| How to Build Shadow Box Walls (Old English Fence) With The MaytRx® System |
Antique MaytRx can be used to build "Shadow Box" retaining walls and freestanding walls that have a three dimensional appearance of Old English stone fence. The diagram below shows layers of Maytrx with random placement of stones with a forward movement and a backward movement of individual stones. These movements can be totally random or in a pattern. Also the forward and backward movements can vary from 5/8" to 1".

A MaytRx shadow box retaining wall can be built with 3/4 inch setback of each layer from the layer below. Failure to follow this set back requirement on retaining walls only a few layers tall can cause the wall to lean forward after time.
The shadow box style can be built straight up to build Old English Stone fences or patio barrier walls as shown here. These walls will have the appearance of being built with natural stone. |
